National Geographic have an article today listing what are (in their opinion) the top ten Valentine’s Day retreats.
Here is my take on the list:
1. Post Ranch Inn, Big Sur, California
Straight in at number 1, the USA!
I went to California once. I didn’t get to see any of the coast, or anywhere outside of Los Angeles, to be honest. Disney Land is so much fun it is hard to tear yourself away!
2. Sedona, Arizona
Hmm, it doesn’t look very romantic here, but some people are turned on by nature and stuff. Not for me. Still, the USA has taken the number 2 spot as well. U!S!A!
3. Covered Bridges, Vermont
The USA takes the bronze!
I don’t know who compiled this list, but whoever it was must be single. Look at that! Whoever wants to take their partner to see one of these things? They look very unsafe. I’d much prefer to go to Six Flags.
4. British Pullman Train, United Kingdom
I’ve been to the UK and I can assure you the trains do not look like this. Who wants to take their partner on the 10.37 to Luton for Valentine’s Day? And look at the state of the train. It must be 100 years old. If you absolutely have to go on a train in the UK, at least take the Eurostar to Paris. Best thing to come out of the UK, ever.
5. Hotel Kakslauttanen, Saariselkä, Finland
I’ve talked about this hotel before. Valentine’s Day and glass hotel rooms do not make a good combination.
